360° Diversity
Faisceau convergent was created in 2019 to encourage a cinematographic expression of diversity. Both iriv and Faisceau convergent based their approach on a legal framework, in the first place on a European level then on a national basis, to fight against discrimination. In France it includes many indicators, in addition to those mandatory provided for by the European Directives of 2000. The diversity issue is closely linked to the creation of the European Union that upgraded it with a unique legal arsenal put in place since 2000 to identify, document and sanction the multiple discrimination that exist in social life, personal or professional.
A monthly newsletter in Solidarity to Ukraine published since 2022 (weblog Solidarité Ukraine) is part of our approach. Diversity is a main indicator for democracy. In Ukraine’s fight against Russia, what is at stake is the European values inherited from the Enlightenment of the XVIIIth century (universalism, freedom of expression, equity of chances, pluralism of the medias and political parties...).. Our newsletter suggests a cognitive approach (moving from emotions to reason) to tackle this war in Europe that is first and foremost ideological and cultural, a new Cold War. Each year offers a different perspective- 2022 (emotions & psyschological profiles of the belligerents), 2023 (earthenware dogs strategy or psychological warfare), 2024 (an international comparison with other conflicts worldwide), 2025 (potential paths to peace), 2026 (Ukraine in a new strategic role in Europe and Worldwide).
The Newsletter published on a daily basis during the Olympics in Paris 2024 ( weblog JO Paris 2024) enriched this approach to diversity, sport is a convincing vector for conveying messages (soft power and smart power weapon) especially among youngsters. The opening and closure ceremonies sent a French and European postcard on Diversity to the world.
