  • Knowledge

    Modern conceptions of knowledge are largely based on several simple distinctions:
    (a) declarative theoretical knowledge differs from practical procedural knowledge;
    (b) several forms of knowledge correspond to a different way of learning: objective knowledge (natural / scientific), subjective knowledge (literary / aesthetic);
    (c) implicit knowledge (the apprentice is not necessarily aware of having it) and explicit (knowledge that the apprentice intentionally examines)
